A Day with the Whales
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to capture the beauty and grace of the Pacific Humpback Whales, here’s your chance. Back by popular demand, I will be hosting my sixth “Day with the Whales” workshop on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 from 9 AM to 5 PM. We’ll begin in the classroom, where you’ll learn how to setup your camera for the prevailing conditions, protect your equipment out on the water, and garner tips and tricks to getting great shots of the whales.
We’ll then board a 30′ rigid-inflatable boat for three hours to photograph these amazing creatures in the ‘Au’au channel. Last year, we encountered a breach-happy juvenile, a female with a calf, several competition pods and a mom/calf/escort trio that stayed with the boat for nearly 20-minutes! Who knows what we’ll see this year?
Back on shore, we’ll reconvene in the classroom, where we’ll download photos and you’ll learn proper non-destructive editing techniques. I’ll then teach you how to print your best image utilizing Hahnemühle FineArt’s latest papers.
The cost of the workshop is $300.00 for a full day of fun. Call us at 808-573-6875 to reserve your space!
